Gujarati Dal in the Tefal Cook 4 Me

  Have a Tefal Cook 4 Me? Make this delicious every day dal in it.


  • 1 cup oily Toor dal
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • 3 curry leaves
  • 8 peanuts, chopped


  1. Wash the Toor dal.
  2. Switch the Cook 4 me on and in manual mode, choose browning.
  3. Brown the curry leaves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, ginger and tomato on this mode for 2 minutes with 2 tablespoons oil.
  4. Now add the water, toor dal, salt, garam masala, turmeric and set the mode to quick cook.
  5. Let this cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Once ready, blitz the mixture till it has a soup like consistency.
  7. Transfer to a Kadai to keep hot.
  8. Now sprinkle the chopped peanuts on top and enjoy hot.
