Santorini is such a gorgeous romantic island, and my two main wishes for our accommodation was that I wanted a room that had a balcony overlooking the Aegean sea, and I wanted my own pool or hot tub. After lots of searching I came across Pegasus Suites and Spa, a luxury 5 star boutique hotel located in Imerovigli, perched on a secluded part of the caldera, that ticked my boxes and looked stunning. I knew it was the one and off I went to Expedia and booked it! It is also not very far from the airport, which means you can maximise your chill time!
We had booked a Junior Suite, built in traditional Cycladic style, and which comes with its own Jetted Tub on the balcony, and which we really made use of. It was especially fantastic during golden hour, and I loved the fact that it wasn’t visible from the main road, so we had lots of privacy when relaxing on our balcony, unlike other properties on the stretch where we were, which were fully visible from the road. Example below.
The hotel had such an incredible view and there was a Spa and Fitness centre on site, even though I didn’t manage to use them. The spa also has a jacuzzi, as well as a hammam and sauna, and a fantastic selection of spa treatments to choose from.
The restaurant was incredible, and the breakfast spread was what breakfast dreams were made of, with a selection of fresh fruits, cereals, breads, cooked classics such as bacon, sausages, eggs, hash browns, as well as Greek specialities, and lots of sweet treats! Freshly squeezed juices and coffees were available every day too, which I loved having, whilst sitting outside and enjoying the magnificent view.
In the evening traditional Greek dishes are served with a modern twist at a candlelit dinner, under the stars overlooking the Caldera, at the restaurant. It was so romantic!
There is a communal pool, with panoramic views of the Caldera, which is heated from April until October, with a pool side bar where we enjoyed a sundowner one evening. There are plenty of sun loungers available as well as tables and chairs and a lovely swing chair.
The rooms are spacious and air conditioned, and the wifi is excellent throughout the hotel.
Every day the hotel left us little treats, either candy, drinks, desserts or fruits, which was such a lovely gesture. We loved enjoying the drinks while the sun was setting.
I loved my balcony, and worked from here during our down time after sightseeing, and it was so lovely having the views of the blue azure ocean, having a cooling breeze and just having such stunning scenery all around.
I even had a little helper on one day! Imerovigli’s resident friendly cat.
The sunsets in the evening were my absolute favourite, and we had such spectacular sights every day, and postcard perfect. The sunsets here were just so so magical and just stunning.
The Imerovigli area was fabulous too with plenty of lovely restaurants (I also recommend the one at our hotel), a supermarket, lots of car hire facilities, and a scenic walk, which I highly recommend, up to Skaros Rock. The sights are just remarkable!
It was so easy to get around from Imerovigli, and my top tip is to hire a car, and drive to Fira and Oia. We actually walked to Fira which was so much fun, and stopped at a local bakery along the way and indulged in traditional Greek pies.
Having a car is much more flexible and also the car hire rates are so reasonable! We hired a car for 24 hours for less than £50 and it was the best thing we could have done as we could explore the island on our own terms, and we could park the car at a space so close to our hotel.
I would stay at Pegasus Suites and Spa again if I was to return to Santorini, as it had amazing service, beautiful rooms, great facilities on sight, incredible food, and the highlight was the spacious balcony and the jetted tub. I feel a bit spoilt after this hotel and will expect all future hotel rooms to have a jetted tub but one can dream! Imerovigli is also much quieter and less touristy than Oia and I feel like you can experience Oia without staying there easily.

We booked our stay on Expedia and did a flight and hotel package, which worked out a lot more reasonable than booking separately. It cost us approximately £650 each, for a flight and a hotel package for April.
