The perfect Parisian weekend at The Westin Paris Vendôme

On a recent trip to Paris I stayed at The Westin Paris Vendôme, which is part of the Starwood portfolio of hotels. Now I am a loyal SPG member and I had stayed at Le Dokhans on a previous visit to Paris, two months prior, which I had loved, so was very excited to see what the Westin was like, as it is located in a different part of Paris. I love exploring Paris and it is slowly becoming a city I seem to visit more frequently in recent years and I think it definitely has my heart.

People love and choose hotels for different reasons. Some want it to be a destination in itself, some love the luxury element, some stick to the same brands for familiarity, or there may be an in house restaurant which is its USP attracting a stay, or it may simply just be a no frills place to sleep.

For others, like me, the location is a very important factor and when combined with fabulous views and touches of luxury become the perfect base for temporary abode at a destination.

The Westin Paris – Vendôme for me totally won on its prime location, in the first arrondissement, literally right in the middle of Paris. The location could not be more perfect. It is walking distance to the Louvre muesum, Palais Royale and right opposite the Tuileries, with some of the Westin’s rooms and suites offering views of the absolutely stunning gardens. In fact we even managed to walk as far as the Eiffel Tower and Champs Élysées as it was such a lovely sunny day.

It has amazing shops and tea houses nearby (Angelina, where we had breakfast, is round the corner) and so it is a really good base to explore Paris from and indulge in all the major sights, shopping and food scene. I have visited Paris a few times and can never tire of its charm.

Check in upon arrival was smooth sailing and as we were really early, we had a coffee and relaxed at the bar whilst we waited for our room to be ready. The hotel had a nice scent and the service and staff were superb.

Once the room was ready and we opened the doors, we were totally blown away by the view from it! Our room was a Junior suite and located on the 5th floor. We had two sets of Parisian style glass doors that opened out into balconies to this view! How epic is this?

We couldn’t stop staring and marvelling at the view and of course had to have a little blogger photoshoot out there. Big thanks to the Guest Services for the balloons and entertaining my weird requests!

Our room was really spacious and open plan with a lounge area, as well as the comfortable Heavenly beds I love about Starwood properties. The room normally has a massive king sized bed but as we were sharing they had arranged for us to have twin beds instead. It was still really comfortable and the highlight was being able to see the twinkling Eiffel Tower whilst in our PJs.

The room also had a desk, which was ideal for all our newly acquired pastries and macarons, and a walk in wardrobe, where we stored our luggage, out of sight and tidy.

The bathroom was spacious with a separate toilet area and a bath tub. It was modern in terms of design and what I loved was the rather convenient plugs near the mirror. A little touch I feel makes such a big difference in terms of comfort when staying in a hotel room. The lighting was perfect for make up sessions too!

There was a well stocked mini bar, complimentary water and wifi, as well as a flat screen TV, hairdryer and lovely toiletries.

The lobby area of the hotel has such a grand Parisian feel and my favourite feature in the hotel was the bright and colourful Veuve Cliquot summer terrace at the centre.

The summer terrace is located in the central courtyard of the hotel and just oozes prettiness with its gorgeous flowers, plants, statues and feature walls. The perfect spot for a glass of bubbly or to have lunch or snacks. I wish we had more time in Paris as would have loved to have sat there for hours with a book and a glass (or two) of bubbles. It would have made a great place to spend a lazy afternoon.

It was also a popular venue for celebrations and we were lucky enough to have witnessed it being dressed up for a wedding reception with these cute balloons. I couldn’t resist taking a photo.

The rest of the hotel is also serious interior goals with marble floors, pretty corridors, chandeliers, artsy walls and stunning features running throughout.

During our stay we had a Sunday brunch at the Le First restaurant and what a brunch it was! A very impressive selection ranging from freshly squeezed juices, adorable salad jars, the most incredible cheese selection, seafood, quiche and fantastic cakes and pastries, just to name a few things. Literally food heaven. If you are looking for a fabulous brunch venue in Paris, the selection here is superb and definitely a great experience.

The Le First restaurant decor is stunning too. It has a boudoir kind of feel with luxurious purple shades, velvet furniture and dark mahogany furniture that has that Parisian classy feel to it.

Though we didn’t get a chance to use it, the hotel also has an in house spa and a gym, adding to its wonderful on site facilities.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Westin Paris, a hotel that radiates luxury, yet is so chic and comfortable at the same time.  It was the perfect hotel for us to stay at and explore Paris from and would 100% recommend it for its location, convenience and definitely for its amazing brunch!

I would also recommend a weekend in Paris to anyone. It is so good for the soul!

Our stay and brunch was complimentary but all views and opinions are my own.

Wow. This has made me miss Paris even more. The hotel looks fantastic and that view – as everyone has said – is perfection! This might be a strange question – but did you hear anyone in the rooms around you? I have like doberman pinscher hearing and sometimes have issues blocking out noise. Since you didn’t say anything about it, I’m guessing it was fine, but I wanted to check. 🙂 I will have to look into staying there next time I go – or at least doing the brunch!!!
