Banana Crisps

 Banana crisps are a nice alternative to potato crisps and are so easy to make and mmmm they taste so good 😊

Perfect for tea time snacks or to pack into lunchboxes. 

Ingredients:

  • 4 or 5 raw bananas or semi ripe
  • A small bowl of water
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt
  • Your choice of seasoning – you can have crushed black pepper or chilli powder or anything you like!

Method

Peel the bananas and then use a mandoline, or a small kitchen knife to thinly slice the bananas and place each piece into the bowl of water. 

Heat the oil in a large pan.

Meanwhile take the slices of banana out of the water and dry on a kitchen towel.

When the oil is hot, add the banana pieces in batches.

Once they are a golden colour take them out using a slotted spoon and place on a kitchen towel so that any excess oil drains off.

Repeat till all your banana slices are fried and then place the crisps into an airtight container.

Sprinkle a good amount of your choice of seasoning into the container, put on the lid and give it a good shake so that the seasoning covers the crisps.

I used salt and black pepper but you can be as creative as you want. 

Enjoy with a nice tea or coffee 🙂
