Indian Afternoon Chai by Chit Chaat

I love nothing more than enjoying an Afternoon Tea at leisure and I recently tried Chit Chaat’s Indian Afternoon Chai, which was delivered to me to enjoy in the comfort of my home.

Chit Chaat Food and Catering Service is a small business started by two friends who share a common passion for food and believe in providing nothing but the best food experience. Lucky for me, one of the founders lives super close to me.

Shikha originally from Amritsar, India brings in the flavours of the food capital of Punjab. Chetna who is from Delhi and has also spent many years in Hyderabad brings in a mix of North Indian and South Indian cuisines.

The Indian Afternoon Chai menu has been inspired by popular authentic dishes and I loved the variety included. It is delivered in a lovely box, ideal to gift someone as a surprise, take with you to the park for a picnic, or simply enjoy yourself at home. Everything included can be eaten cold which is the best part and so there is literally no preparation required before you devour it – simply plate it up and eat!

What’s included?

The Indian Afternoon Chai selection includes a Paneer Kathi Wrap, which is marinated Paneer in yogurt with spices wrapped in roti and topped with peppers, cabbage and onions, a classic Bombay Sandwich filled with cucumber, potato, onion, tomato and spices, a Samosa, Dhokla, which is a savoury cake made from a batter of rice and split chickpeas, and Papdi Chaat, which are Papdi (crisp puris) topped with potatoes, onions, chickpeas, chutneys, yoghurt and spices.

For the sweet selection you get  a choice of Fruit Cream and Gajar Barfi, which is an Indian pudding made with Gajar (Carrot) and milk.

Drinks include a Masala Chai Blend and a Mango Lassi, which was so creamy and delicious.

It was all lovely but particular favourites were the Dhokla and the Bombay Sandwich. Just so tasty! There were chutneys packed into the box too and they were sublime.

The entire selection really was fantastic and we couldn’t fault any of it. We are now keen to try more of Chit Chaat’s food! They offer catering services and the lovely Shika also has a Home and Lifestyle business which you can check out here: https://homevedaa.com/

The Indian Afternoon High Chai costs £18pp and you can order by calling them on 07528076392 or 07405893150. You can find more details on their website here: https://chitchaat.co/

I love packing my bags and going off on adventures as one of the best things about travelling is the ability to just get lost in it. To set aside the maps and itineraries and just see where the road takes you, learning and evolving and living in the moment along the way. It's my goal to get swept off my feet as often as possible!
