Review: Corbin & King Home Dining

I have really missed Restaurant quality food over the past few months and so when I was given an opportunity to experience the brand new Corbin & King’s Home Dining offering I was really excited. The menu has a selection of all the popular classic dishes from all their restaurants, including Manzi’s which isn’t even open yet, that you simply ‘finish at home,’ be that in the pan, microwave, oven or simply plate up.

They also have a selection of wines to choose from and kindly sent us a chilled bottle of Gruner Veltliner ‘Lois’, Loimer 2018 to enjoy with our meal, which was a lovely gesture.

As it was a gorgeous day, I set the table in the garden and sipped on the wine whilst I prepared all the dishes which we then enjoyed outside. It was really nice to have a night off cooking from scratch.

For our mains, we tried The Wolseley’s Wiener Schnitzel, which is their classic veal escalope, topped with Panko breadcrumbs, and accompanied with a lingonberry compote, and Soutine’s Coq au Riesling, a classic Alsacienne dish of free range chicken slowly braised in Riesling wine, with chestnut mushrooms and pearl onions. They were both delicious and full of flavour.

To accompany this, we shared a medley of spring vegetables which included green beans, peas and asparagus and some gorgeous garlic and parsley butter. The perfect summer side!

For dessert we had the classic Vanilla Cheesecake from The Delaunay and Zédel’s Mousse au Chocolat.

The Vanilla Cheesecake from The Delaunay is a dessert I have had before when dining at the restaurant and it was as tasty as I remembered it! It brought back so many lovely memories of our date night there.

We were so stuffed from the dishes we had that we actually saved the Zédel’s Mousse au Chocolat for later!

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it was a great way to try some of the dishes from different restaurants that we hadn’t been to yet in the comfort of our home.

A fantastic reason to order is that 100% of the profits are going to support furloughed staff. I think that is superb!
