Already a success in New York with round the block queues, Red Farm, which serves modern and inventive Chinese Food, the brainchild of dim sum master chef Joe Ng and Chinese food expert Ed Schoenfeld, is now available in the heart of Covent Garden, next to Balthazar.
With modern rustic decor and occupying three floors, this restaurant is spacious and in the perfect spot for a fun dim sum meal in the midst of exploring Covent Garden or as a pre or post theatre treat. During the festive season its a great place to warm up after seeing the Christmas displays across Covent Garden.
I took my best Dim Sum buddy with me to experience it and we opted for the Chef’s selection menu and sat back and relaxed with a glass of bubbles as we excitedly anticipated what would be coming up first! They do have a cocktail and wine menu, so the perfect spot for drinks and dim sum.
First up was the Spicy Crispy Beef, perfect in texture and such beautiful flavours, with a hint of Sichuan, which we are both obsessed with.
Then came their signature Pac Man Shrimp Dumplings, with four pastel-coloured har gau with black sesame seed eyes alongside Pac Man, made from battered sweet potato housed on a bed of crushed avocado.
The presentation was adorable and it wasn’t just a gimmick, Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyd tasted really good too!
We then had a soup dumpling each which came with an adorable paper straw.
