2020 Travel wish list – Canada

2020 Travel wish list – Canada

With 2019 almost over and 2020 bringing with it a fresh new decade for travel, I’ve begun to think about my 2020 destination wish list and Canada is one of the countries I would love to visit. There is so much I want to see and do but as I won’t have a lot of time, I’ve narrowed it down to specific places that I would love to experience.

I’ve only visited Toronto which was almost 10 years ago rather bravely in the winter months and it’s somewhere I’d like to visit again during the summer months, and it also happens to be where one of my childhood best friends lives. Last time I made it to the Niagara Falls which was amazing!

This time I want to check out the Distillery district and the Kensington Market as well as do all of the main sights again with a better camera in hand as at the time I only had my BlackBerry phone!

Vancouver is also somewhere I would like to visit as I have heard there are lots of amazing festivals and markets, with Richmond Night Market being one of the most popular. As a foodie I really want to try the Japadog, which are  Japanese-style hotdogs and a Vancouver staple, alongside other amazing food, not forgetting Poutine!

Montreal is also on my hit list for the Montreal Beer Festival and Montreal Fringe Festival. I also love rooftop bars and want to check out Terrasse Place d’Armes.

For an outdoor experience, the Canadian Rockies is on my radar togo hiking and I want to travel there on the Rocky Mountaineer. I have seen amazing photos of the rockies against the turquoise lakes and I want to see it in person and breathe in all that fresh air!

Finally, as a Wildlife enthusiast I would love to go to Newfoundland and Labrador on Canada’s Atlantic coast as it is thought to be one of the best whale watching spots in the world and I want to see Whales in their natural habitat.

There have been 22 whale species sighted here, including humpbacks, orca, minke, blue, and fin. I would love to spot them from either a boat or sea kayak.

When I do plan my trip I will book a flight to Canada with Canadian Affair as they have some really amazing deals on for flights to Canada. If you haven’t used them definitely check out their deals!

Have you visited any of these Canadian cities? I’d love to know what your highlights were.

Hi, I’m Binny – a writer, dreamer, serial wanderluster and travel addict. I am originally from Kenya but now live in London. I set up this blog to share my experiences eating out as well as travelling.

I love packing my bags and going off on adventures as one of the best things about travelling is the ability to just get lost in it. To set aside the maps and itineraries and just see where the road takes you, learning and evolving and living in the moment along the way.

It’s my goal to get swept off my feet as often as possible.
