On The Terrace at Four Seasons London at Park Lane

On The Terrace at Four Seasons London at Park Lane

One of my favourite spots every summer is the private garden terrace at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane, which has a different theme each year, and this time you have a taste of Italy “On The Terrace.” What’s more the space is spectacularly designed, adorned with colourful and vibrant flowers and a beautiful swing, perfect for perching on whilst sipping on a Peach Bellini.

Best friend in tow, I spent a sunny evening here trying out their new menu whilst catching up, starting with a Bellini with fresh white peach and Prosecco for me and a chilled glass of Cloudy Bay for him.

It’s the perfect place for after work drinks and food, and their menu is fantastic. You can either opt for Apericena, where you get 4 dishes for £23 or pick your own Cicchetti for £5 a dish. We went for the Apericena, and let me explain what that is!
We’ve all heard of the famous Italian ritual of aperitivo, or aperitif, a pre-dinner drink which in Italy must always be accompanied by snacks! Something I loved about al fresco drinks in Italy on previous visits to Rome and Tuscany.

The Italian word aperto means to open or begin and so as these snacks have become more substantial in offerings they are becoming similar in portion to Cena, which means dinner. The combination of the two has become known as apericena – a new trend.

We devoured classics such as Focaccia with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar to dip, and Bruschetta with tomato pulp and basil, as well as Pecorino Sardo with fresh peas and Parma ham with fresh melon. They were all perfect summery dishes to go with our choice of drinks.
I couldn’t resist also trying one of the Cicchetti dishes, the ‘Suppli al Telefono’ which were rice croquettes with mozzarella cheese. These were divine morsels of delight!
The service was great, drinks were refreshing and the food moreish – I know I will be back this summer a few more times for sure!
For a fabulous spot to soak up some sunshine whilst devouring some stunning Italian plates, head to Four Season London’s “On the Terrace” for Apericana between 5pm and 8pm.

Hi, I’m Binny – a writer, dreamer, serial wanderluster and travel addict. I am originally from Kenya but now live in London. I set up this blog to share my experiences eating out as well as travelling.

I love packing my bags and going off on adventures as one of the best things about travelling is the ability to just get lost in it. To set aside the maps and itineraries and just see where the road takes you, learning and evolving and living in the moment along the way.

It’s my goal to get swept off my feet as often as possible.
