Trying out the new Duck & Dry Express at Primark, Oxford Street

Duck & Dry Express has opened in Primark at Oxford Street, opposite Tottenham Court Road Station, and they specialise in hair, nail and brow services. As well as blow-dries, you can also get an ‘updo’ at an incredibly low price, something which would be dear in an ordinary salon.

I have been to their original Duck and Dry salons before whenever I’ve fancied a blow dry just like that or for a special evening/event. This evening happened to coincide with my anniversary and so a great reason to get my hair done.

The location of this Duck and Dry Express is convenient for me as it just takes me 20 mins on the tube! Amidst the chaos of Primark, the salon is a like a little haven which looks sleek and bright.

I have opted for both an express manicure with polish (£18) and an express dry style for my hair (£17), which is superb pricing!

My nails were in a state and I really enjoyed my manicure and opted for a lilac shade for the polish.

For my hair I wanted volume and curls as I normally have my hair straight on a daily basis and I loved the speed and precision with which this was done by the stylist. Because it was dry styling, it saves you the time and faff of fitting time in to wash your hair as well so you won’t be sitting in a chair for hours while each strand is blowdried and styled. This all took 30 mins!

I was really happy with the result and enjoyed my experience at Duck and Dry Express, despite it being in a super busy store, I never felt that sitting in the concession for Duck and Dry Express. It’s also a fun place to come with a group of your friends before a night out to get your hair done as it is a very social space.

Considering the same service would be a much steeper price at a central London salon, this is such good value and the experience is identical to that of a salon. I will definitely be going back, especially for a treat or before a special event just to look glammed up.

On the treatment menu you can choose from a selection of dry styling options, as well as hair braiding, nail treatments, and brow and eyelash services – all at competitively cheap prices – eyebrow threading from £6 is a steal compared to eyebrow bars!

At time of publishing this there are two Duck and Dry Express salons – one at the Primark on Oxford Street and one in Birmingham. If you are looking for somewhere to have a quick and reasonably priced blow dry head there!

Hi, I’m Binny – a writer, dreamer, serial wanderluster and travel addict. I am originally from Kenya but now live in London. I set up this blog to share my experiences eating out as well as travelling.

I love packing my bags and going off on adventures as one of the best things about travelling is the ability to just get lost in it. To set aside the maps and itineraries and just see where the road takes you, learning and evolving and living in the moment along the way.

It’s my goal to get swept off my feet as often as possible.

LOL! Binny, given that your posts are usually about places where you have eaten or stayed, I thought Primark had opened a restaurant at one of their stores!
