5 reasons to visit Santorini this year

Santorini is one of the most famous of the Cycladic islands, with its world renowned blue domes, white washed buildings alongside the caldera, and its stunning views of the Aegean Sea.

I would advise going in the low season as it is still suitably warm but with the added bonus of less crowds, as lets face it, Santorini is a VERY popular destination, as well as a stop on cruises. Here are 5 reasons why you should add Santorini to your travel plans this year.

Sunsets like no other

Sunset in Santorini

Sunset in Santorini

Santorini has had some of the most sensational sunsets that I have ever experienced. Whether you catch them in Oia or from the comfort of your hot tub in Imerovigli, they are certainly stunning!

It is a romantic destination, perfect for honeymoon, celebrating anniversaries or just spending quality time together.

Breathtaking landscapes

Much of Santorini is built on a caldera rim. It is so photogenic, but also very hilly. The views from all over the island are just incredible combined with the azure hues of the Aegean Sea.

Food and wine

The food is amazing and so is the wine! I highly recommend going for one of the wine tasting experiences. All over the island you will find delicious Greek food and super fresh seafood.

Unique Architecture

Greek architecture, and specifically that of the Cyclades is unique in its white-painted houses and cobbled lanes. So pretty to see!

Hi, I’m Binny – a writer, dreamer, serial wanderluster and travel addict. I am originally from Kenya but now live in London. I set up this blog to share my experiences eating out as well as travelling.

I love packing my bags and going off on adventures as one of the best things about travelling is the ability to just get lost in it. To set aside the maps and itineraries and just see where the road takes you, learning and evolving and living in the moment along the way.

It’s my goal to get swept off my feet as often as possible.
