5 places to eat Dumplings in London

If like me you love Dumplings, here are 5 places to get your fix in London. Dumplings are especially important during the Chinese New Year as eating them is believed to bring good luck for the coming year. The shape Of Chinese dumplings are similar to ancient gold or silver ingots and they symbolize wealth.

Review : Baozilnn – my favourite Dim Sum restaurant in London

My favourite and top of the list for dumplings! Highly recommend a visit to either the Soho restaurant or the outpost in Market Halls Victoria.

Din Tai Fung

This massive 250 cover restaurant with a fantastic track record abroad serves the most incredible Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings). Definitely try them. I especially love the open kitchen where you can see the dumplings being made.

Find it on 5 Henrietta St, London WC2E 8PT

Leong’s Legend

In China Town I love Leong’s Legend for its authentic Taiwanese street food. Highlights are definitely the massive soup dumpling which comes complete with a straw!

Dumpling Legend

Also in China town is Dumpling Legend, where we ate more Xiao Long Bao. It is a lovely restaurant and the menu choices are incredible. The prices are so reasonable and the perfect cheap eat.

Hutong at The Shard

For a special experience with sensational views of London as your dining partner, head to Hutong at The Shard. Here you can enjoy dumplings such as Scallop and prawn wontons with hot and spicy sauce, Minced lamb and fennel seed dumplings, Mixed vegetable dumplings and Iberico pork dumplings with Sichuan garlic sauce, which are my absolute favourite.

Pictured are the Shrimp & kimchi dumpling and Black truffle & edamame dumpling available on their Experience Lunch Menu.

  1. I’d love to eat at the Shard – still haven’t visited! – but it’s Din Tai Fung that’s at the top of my list. I ate there for the first time last year when I was in Shanghai and well, wow! So happy one’s opened up in London now…

  2. London is such a great place for dim sum, and dumplings in particular. I’m ashamed to say though that it’s been way too long since my last dumpling adventure! Thanks for the tips, Binny!
