From Santa’s Savouries, we enjoyed three each of the Festive feast finger sandwich with roast Bronze turkey, sage, apricot and chestnut stuffing and Christmas chutney, as well as the decadent bridge roll with duck egg mayonnaise and sun blushed tomatoes. You normally get a third option of a buttermilk pancake with Royal Warrant Holder Scottish smoked salmon, quail eggs and whipped goats cheese but neither of us are Salmon fans so we chose to replace this with an extra of the others. My favourite was most definitely the duck egg mayonnaise, although both were scrumptious.
For the Sweet Tidings, the cutest selection sat on the top tier of our stand which included Santa’s Choice, which was a cherry bavarois Christmas bauble, the most adorable Frosty the Snowman garnished with roasted coconut on a white chocolate snowman macaroon, Reindeer Fuel, which was a dark chocolate and orange yule log, and my personal favourite from the selection, so much so that I ate both, the ‘Underneath the Christmas Tree’ custard, nutmeg and mincemeat tart.
The homemade scones, raisin as well as plain, were divine, and served with clotted cream and traditional preserves.
The Chinoiserie, where the Afternoon Tea is enjoyed, is a wonderful venue and it is so relaxing, with superb service and a great ambience. The Festive Afternoon Tea costs GBP 39 per person or GBP 49 per person, with a glass of Champagne Laurent-Perrier, which is really good value, especially for the offering that you get. I highly recommend it as the attention to detail in the pastries as well as the delicious festive twists are done so well, that it is highly impressive and enjoyable. The perfect festive treat!
It is available until 31 December 2018 so get booking!
