My Top 6 Themed Afternoon Teas in London

Afternoon Teas are my favourite type of indulgence and the perfect way to spend a leisurely afternoon with family or friends. They are so perfect for celebrations or special occasions.  London has such a fantastic selection of Afternoon Teas, both traditional and themed, and here are my top 6 themed Afternoon Teas that I have enjoyed in the past year.

A Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Mary Poppins Afternoon Tea at Aqua Shard

Aqua Shard, on the 31st floor of The Shard, without a doubt is my favourite building in London for its incredible awe-inspiring views. They have recently launched a brand new Mary Poppins themed Afternoon Tea, which is absolutely amazing. The attention to detail takes you down memory lane in a ‘Practically perfect’ way and it is great fun!

Afternoon Tea: Prêt-à-Portea at The Berkeley, Spring/Summer 2018

The Prêt-à-Portea Afternoon Tea at The Berkeley is an absolute must. It changes every season, adopting the latest fashion trends as inspiration for the delectable array of pastries, which are show stopping!  The Afternoon Tea takes place in the  bright and spacious Collins room, and whether you are a fashionista or not, this is definitely one of the best themed Afternoon Teas in London.

High Coffee at InterContinental London Park Lane

As a coffee lover,  the High Coffee in collaboration with L’Unico Caffé Musetti, at the InterContinental London Park Lane, in their gorgeous Wellington Lounge is fantastic. The menu has been devised to complement a variety of different especially chosen coffees ranging from single origin smooth, honey coffees, a rare new Gold Cuvée blend, to blackcurrant, nutty, candied lemon blends, all from Gran Cru coffee plantations. It is such a great alternative to the traditional Afternoon Tea and any Afternoon Tea which kicks off with Salted Caramel Espresso Martinis is a winner for me!

The Garden Tea at Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane

The seasonal Afternoon Teas at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane have always been incredible, and this Spring/Summer, they’ve collaborated with the Chelsea Physic Garden for a Garden Tea. The inspiration behind the pastries are seasonal ingredients and flavours chosen by the Pastry Chef from what he found at Chelsea Physic Garden.  It is a really pretty Afternoon Tea and the touch of the divine hot chocolate is amazing.

Afternoon Tea at The Landmark London Hotel

Not only is the setting of this award winning Afternoon Tea absolutely stunning (It doesn’t feel like you are in London), it is divine. There are two options available for the Afternoon Tea – the Winter Garden Afternoon Tea and the Chocolate Afternoon Tea. The best part is you could have one of each, which we certainly did as we were having a tough time choosing between the two as they both sounded incredible. The refill of sandwiches is a great aspect too!

The Tale as old as Time – Beauty and the Beast Afternoon Tea at The Kensington Hotel

Beauty and the Beast is my favourite childhood movies and The Kensington Hotel have collaborated with Disney on a themed tea taken from the “Be our Guest” scene in the story and is a French twist on the classic afternoon tea. From the tableware, to the pastries, it is just the cutest Afternoon Tea ever so get booking!
