The Places I can’t get out of my head

There are some destinations that you visit, and they leave such an impact on you, that the place and the memories from it are forever etched in your heart and mind. Here are some beautiful places that have had that effect on me.

Antigua and Barbuda

The beach in Barbuda

The islands of Antigua and Barbuda will always be special to me and a place I would love to visit on my 10 year wedding anniversary, for it was the first long haul destination where Amit and I went for holiday, our first taste of the gorgeous islands in the Caribbean as well as where he went down on one knee and proposed!

I wrote about the proposal as well as why Antigua and Barbuda are special to me here.

Bali, Indonesia

Bali has been high on my list for a long time and last year we finally visited, and it was everything I dreamed of and more. From its lush green rice paddy fields to its magnificent waterfalls and stunning temples, it was a place that made me feel so relaxed, at ease and where I truly had a proper break and recharged and rejuvenated. It’s natural beauty just had me in awe and I would love to go back again sooner rather than later.

If you are thinking of visiting Bali, I have written a post on Things to do in Bali, Indonesia.

Paris brings me so much joy – from its pretty cobbled streets, seeing the Eiffel Tower from different parts of the city, and the fresh baguettes, sublime macarons and dining al fresco with red wine and French onion soup to indulge in.

It has been a destination we have ended up visiting almost yearly, and it is always a wonderful experience, happy new memories and we always leave happier.

Paris is somewhere that will always be in my mind and always a place I will visit time and time again.

I have several posts from my trips to Paris including An itinerary for a whistle stop 36 hours in Paris as well as What to do in a weekend in the City of Lights.

Beach in Mauritius BBQ on a Catamaran in Mauritius Sunset in Mauritius

If you follow me on Instagram, you will see all my nostalgic photos of the postcard perfect beaches, the stunning sunsets as well as an incredible BBQ on board a Catamaran in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Mauritius left an everlasting impact on me and it totally blew me away with how beautiful the island was.

Having been born by the Indian Ocean myself on the island of Mombasa, I sensed a lot of familiarity as well as so much striking difference between the two.

Mauritius is a gorgeous island and one which everyone should have on their bucket list.

You can read about the things to do in Mauritius here.

Tuscany – what a dreamy Italian hideaway – I have promised myself that one day I will own a farm house overlooking a vineyard in Tuscany as it is literally one of the most peaceful places I have visited, with so much charm, lovely people, amazing food (pasta and gelato), delicious wines and just so pretty!

Saffron farm in Tuscany Lemon trees in Tuscany

We managed to do so much in just three days in Tuscany and you can read about it here such as visiting a Saffron Farm and going Truffle Hunting.

To set aside the maps and itineraries and just see where the road takes you, learning and evolving and living in the moment along the way. It's my goal to get swept off my feet as often as possible!

Binny this list is amazing and similar to my own – although I’d happily go EVERYWHERE haha. Bali is my #1 item on my long-haul travel wish list, but it will be a couple years before I can make it over there I think. I’m going to pop over to your things to do in Bali post for the time being, though 🙂
