Dalloway Terrace, located at The Bloomsbury London, is one of my favourite ‘instagrammable’ spots in London, especially because of its twinkly lights and marble topped tables and relaxed vibes.
Whilst I had been there for drinks and brunch before, this was my first time trying out their Afternoon Tea and it was a special one. I adore the terrace and love how it adapts its decor according to the season. In winter it is heated with cute blankets on the chairs, and in spring and summer, it is so lovely and bright.
For this Afternoon Tea, Dalloway Terrace have collaborated with last year’s Great British Bake Off winner and author of recently released cookbook ‘Comfort’; Candice Brown, and the menu features creative and innovative twists on classic afternoon tea favourites.
We kicked off the evening with a glass of Perrier-Jouët before we settled down to enjoy the sweet and savoury selections. Bubbles are always the best when enjoyed with a delectable Afternoon Tea, and Perrier-Jouët is one of my favourites.
The selections of all of the delicacies were utterly fabulous!
Starting with the bottom tier, there was a savoury selection of sandwiches and quiches which included a Leek & Smoked Haddock Tart with Gruyere Cheese, Beetroot Cured Salmon with Cucumber & Dill Relish on Sourdough, Chicken & Chorizo with Tomato Chutney in a Granary Roll and Egg Mayonnaise & Cured Streaky Bacon in Pain de Mie.
The middle tier, and the one which makes the Afternoon Tea complete, were the scones, and we enjoyed Feta & Courgette Scones and Orange & Cardamom Scones served with Thyme Clotted Cream, Devonshire Clotted Cream & Homemade Preserve.
The top tier was a delightful selection of sweet treats such as Peanut Butter & Jelly Profiteroles, Lemon, Half Hitch Gin & Poppy Seed Drizzle Cake, Meringue Kisses with Passionfruit Curd and Mint, Chocolate & Coconut Cake with Whipped Ganache.
The Peanut Butter & Jelly Profiteroles were so dreamy and I adored both varieties of scones that we tried. I had admittedly never had courgette in a scone but the combination with feta was remarkable.
Everything we tried was a treat to the senses and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and can totally see why Candice won the 2016 GBBO as she is amazing and truly wowed us with her inventive Afternoon Tea menu!
It is available at Dalloway Terrace until 31st January 2018 so get booking and go experience it as it is a really lovely one. The terrace is stunning and it is fabulous way to spend an afternoon indulging!
