The St Regis Mauritius has a beautiful and contemporary spa, named the Iridium Spa after the Greek goddess Iris, which offers a whole variety of blissful, pampering and relaxing treatments.
It has 12 spacious treatment rooms, which are named suites, a breezy relaxation area, a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna as well as a hair and beauty salon.
It is located in the heart of the resort and is built in the same colonial theme as the rest of the resort.
The spa menu has so many tempting choices ranging from facials, scrubs, wraps to massages and much more. I decided to go for an Indian head massage, which gives you a healthy scalp and hair and totally relaxes you, ensuring you have a peaceful sleep.
Indian head massages are a tradition in every single Indian family and I am sure everyone’s mum or grandmother has at one point applied oil to their hair and given them a head massage.
For my treatment I was taken to a a Spa treatment room, which came with an en-suite bathroom, including a shower, luxurious toiletries and a hair dryer for convenience.
I changed and then settled down onto the spa bed for my treatment. Some relaxing music filled the room while I spent the next 45 minutes in a complete state of relaxation without my phone in my hand. It was such a blissful 45 minutes and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I thoroughly enjoyed the head massage and after it finished, the therapist applied a hair mask, which she asked me to keep in my hair for around 30 minutes.
She led me to the relaxation room, which had large comfortable sofas and chairs, and served me some ginger tea with a side of honey to enjoy.
After about 30 minutes, I decided to head back and shower in my room, which was not very far, but you can choose to shower and change in the bathroom which is attached to the treatment room.
The treatment cost MUR 3,600 and it was worth it! If you are planning on staying at the St Regis Mauritius, I highly recommend saving some pamper time for the Iridium Spa. After a hectic few months it was just the pampering time I needed.
